In 2014, the Research Division for Urban-Rural Relations and Development Planning was built by the Research Team of the Innovative Project of China's Urban-rural Relations. It has since its inception carried out 16 projects and published 96 results, including 9 monographs, 50 core journal papers and 37 policy proposals.

Research area: urban-rural relations and development planning.

Research directions: theories and policies of urban-rural relations, urban-rural integration, urban-rural income distribution, urban-rural development strategy and planning, suburban economy, and urban-rural labor migration.
